Consistency > Frequency!
Christie @ Divine Child Yoga | JAN 15, 2025

I had a client ask me today, "Is once a week enough?" And my answer was, at least, yes! But really, it’s all about consistency over frequency.
It’s easy to think that more is always better when it comes to yoga or any form of movement. But the real magic happens when you commit to a steady practice—no matter how small. I would much rather have you attend class once a week consistently rather than attend several times one week and then take weeks off in between.
Even once a week—whether in class or at home—can offer tremendous benefits when done regularly. If a full hour isn’t realistic, even just 10 minutes a day can make a huge difference! Those small, consistent efforts build strength, flexibility, and mindfulness over time in a way that sporadic bursts of activity simply can’t.
Think of it like watering a plant. If you give it a little water every day or every few days, it thrives. But if you forget about it for weeks and then dump a bucket of water on it, it struggles. Your body and mind respond similarly to yoga. A steady, ongoing practice allows for sustainable growth, healing, and progress.
So if you’re wondering whether once a week is enough, the answer is absolutely—especially if it’s something you can maintain over time. Yoga isn’t about pushing yourself to the limit; it’s about showing up for yourself with consistency and grace.
If you’re looking for ways to build a more regular practice, start small. Find a class or a home routine that feels manageable and commit to it. Over time, you may naturally feel called to practice more often—but even if you don’t, know that showing up regularly, in whatever way works for you, is enough.
If you're interested in joining me for a weekly class or signing up for a series, you can find my upcoming schedule of classes here~
How do you stay consistent with your practice? I’d love to hear what works for you!
With Gratitude,
