Outdoor Yoga is Back! Tips for Practicing in Nature (Beach, Lavender Fields, and More)
Christie @ Divine Child Yoga | JUN 15, 2025

It’s that time of year again — outdoor yoga season! Whether you love greeting the sunrise on the beach, breathing in the scent of lavender fields, or moving in a peaceful garden, outdoor yoga is an incredible way to connect more deeply with your practice and with nature itself.
Here are a few of my best tips to make the most of it:
1. Check the Weather (and Dress in Layers!)
Outdoor classes mean Mother Nature is your co-teacher. Dress in layers that you can peel off or put on as temperatures change, and keep an eye on the forecast.
2. Bring the Right Gear
3. Embrace Imperfection
You might hear a bird, feel the wind, or even get a little sandy. Part of practicing in nature is surrendering to what’s around you — and letting that teach you flexibility, patience, and presence.
4. Arrive Early
Give yourself time to settle in, say hello to the instructor, and find a comfortable spot before class begins.
5. Breathe It All In
One of the best things about outdoor yoga is the sensory experience: the sounds, the scents, the sunlight on your skin. Take a few moments before class to ground yourself and fully appreciate your surroundings.
