Self-Love Yoga Tips for February

February is all about love and I want to remind you that this absolutely means love for yourself too!💗

Here are 5 yoga tips for self love

  1. Take time to practice self-care. Whether it’s a hot bath, taking a yoga class, or even just lounging on the couch with a snack, make sure you’re taking time to honor yourself.
  2. Practice yoga postures that open your heart and cultivate feelings of love. Asanas such as Camel Pose, Bridge Pose, and Fish Pose can all help you to open up and feel more connected to your heart. This supported fish pose is a favorite place of mine to hang out for a couple minutes!
  3. Spend time with yourself. Try meditation, prayer, or journaling, or brave the cold and go for a walk in nature. All of these activities will help you to gain a better understanding of yourself and the love you have within.
  4. Set an intention of self-love. Before each yoga class, set an intention to practice self-love and acceptance. This intention will help to bring a sense of purpose and focus to your practice.
  5. Be gentle with yourself. Be mindful of your thoughts and words and be sure to practice self-compassion. It’s important to remember that you are doing the best you can and that it’s okay to make mistakes.

I know these aren't always easy, especially for busy people & parents. We sometimes beat ourselves up for all the things we didn't get around to, but give yourself some kudos for the 97 other things that you accomplished today!

If you're looking to do something fun with you kids for some movement (exercise is self-care!), turn on Give Love by MC Yogi and practice along with some sun salutations or whatever other poses & dance moves! I use this song in class often for our warmups and it's always a hit!
